Ms. Northen received her MS degree in OT from VCU in 1993. She is certified by the National Board for Certification in OT and is a licensed Biofeedback/Neurofeedback provider and a certified provider for Interactive Metronome. Ms. Northen has experience in a variety of settings and with individuals of all ages. Experiences include individuals with neurological, orthopedic, developmental and psychosocial disorders. As an OT, Ms. Northen applies a holistic approach to care. The social, emotional, and physiological effects of an injury are taken into account in order to help the individual achieve an optimal level of function and independence in their life roles. Ms. Northen often incorporates neurotherapy and other types of biofeedback modalities into her practice as a natural complement to traditional OT services to improve the efficiency and benefit of each. She believes that together they can enhance a person’s potential for positive growth and change.
