Krysta Staples

Rehabilitation Technician

Ms. Staples received her C.N.A. certification in 2004, while in high school in Charleston, SC. She studied at Charleston Southern University working toward an Associate Degree in Science. At the same time, she served as a Rehab Tech in a local convalescent hospital where, for two years, she assisted patients with activities of daily living, provided restorative care, managed adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, alarm systems, adaptive devices for mobility, did fall risk assessments, and therapeutic exercises. While there, she attended numerous training sessions regarding restorative and rehabilitation therapies.

Ms. Staples moved to Richmond in 2007 and was an administrative assistant in the Optical Shop at Maguire VA Hospital. In April of 2008 she came to TOLS as the Rehab Tech. Since then, she has been working with the therapy department augmenting the services of the PT, OT, SLP and Recreational Therapist both at home and in the community. Ms. Staples plans to continue her education at VCU with the goal of becoming an Occupational Therapist.
