Laura Schreffler, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

A graduate of James Madison University who received the OT clinical excellence award for her performance in clinical fieldwork. She worked in a variety of physical disabilities settings in a rehab hospital for 2 years post graduation. While working at this hospital, she received the OT Outstanding Clinician award. She is Saeiboflex trained and has presented twice at VOTA conferences on the Saeboflex orthosis. Since 2006, she has worked as the primary Occupational Therapist at Tree of Life Services providing OT services, both in the TOLS home setting and in the community.

In 2008, she spoke at the 2008 Williamsburg Conference on Brain Injury. Since 2004, Laura has volunteered at Camp Bruce McCoy, a 2 week summer camp for adult brain injury survivors run by the Brain Injury Association of Virginia. She is a member of AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association) and VOTA (Virginia Occupational Therapy Association). She remains registered through NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) and is licensed through the Virginia Board of Medicine. She is an avid participant in continuing education in a variety of topics as it is related to OT and her clinical practice.
